Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand:
A long-cherished dream of Rudraprayag district is finally becoming a reality. The district’s first nursing college has been completed and is expected to begin its first academic session next year, marking a major milestone in the region’s educational and healthcare infrastructure.
Located in Kothagi village of Talla Nagpur area, the nursing college has been constructed at a cost of 20.44 crore. The project aims to provide better access to medical and nursing education for students, especially those from remote mountainous areas.
Modern Infrastructure Ready Under Phase 1
The construction agency Bridge Construction Corporation Limited (BRIDCUL) has completed all major works under Phase 1 as per the approved plan.
Key facilities now fully ready include:
Administrative building
Academic block
Boys’ and girls’ hostels
Essential institutional infrastructure
Only landscaping, pathway development, and final finishing work remain, which are expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Foundation Laid in 2022
The foundation stone of the nursing college was laid in November 2022 by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The project has been envisioned as a significant step toward:

It is also considered a dream project of local MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary, reflecting strong regional demand for such an institution.

Girls’ Hostel
Capacity: 48 beds

First floor: 17 rooms

The academic building is built to accommodate 240 students and includes:

The second floor houses specialized learning spaces such as:
Multipurpose hall
Pre-clinical science lab
Nursing foundation lab
Medical-surgical lab

Final Touches Underway
According to Project Manager Sanjay Jain (BRIDCUL), most construction work has been completed on schedule. Only finishing work remains, which will be completed soon by the concerned departments.
